In our pursuit of aligning MagicBox with AI/ML and integrating ChatGPT into our platform, we have dedicated our first two quarters this year to developing an AI/ML-powered Learning Assistant Chatbot. This learning assistant acts as a support system for students in the absence of teachers and helps guide them through their queries and FAQs while studying in the digital learning environment.

Given that students are spending a significant amount of time studying from home, our learning assistant has become a crucial tool in enhancing user engagement and promoting seamless interactions between teachers and students on the platform.

The current learning assistant offers a range of essential functionalities, including:

  • Learning Assistant Search: Allows users to perform searches specifically within the learning assistant.
  • Content Search: Enables users to search for content using content titles and metadata.
  • Context Search: Provides answers from eBooks and courses based on user queries presented in question form, delivering contextually relevant information.
  • FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions): The Learning Assistant is equipped to respond to frequently asked questions, which users have previously submitted. These FAQs and corresponding answers are meticulously curated by the MagicBox team via the admin portal. Publishers also have the option to contribute their own set of FAQs to the MagicBox team, further enriching the Learning Assistant's knowledge base.
We are excited to introduce our latest AI-powered features:

1. Redesigned Learning Assistant: We've overhauled the user interface and experience of the learning assistant, giving it a fresh and modern appearance. Users can now access five distinct options in the main menu instead of the previous three: Search, Assigned Courses, FAQs, ChatGPT, and Ask Assistant.

2. ChatGPT Integration with MB Learning Assistant: The ChatGPT menu is now configurable on a tenant-specific basis, depending on the user's role. ChatGPT serves a dual purpose, functioning for general chatting and Q&A. Upon selecting ChatGPT from the main menu, users will encounter two sub-menus: Chat and Q&A.

3. Content Summarization Feature in MB Learning Assistant: We've introduced a new feature to the main menu – "Ask Assistant." When users select this option, they can receive summarized responses from ChatGPT. Additionally, users have the option to click "View More" to expand the text and view the complete response. Furthermore, they can click "View Source" to access the recommended content, from which the summarized text in the chatbot is derived.
