How do I create a question?

Perform the following steps to create a question:

  1. Log in as a Teacher.Questions
  2. Click the Assessment menu in the left panel.
  3. Click the Questions sub-menu in the left panel. You
    see a screen similar to the one shown below:Questions
  4. Click the New Question button. You arrive at the
    following screen:Select question type
  5. Select the question type from Choose a Question Type.
    The question type formats are displayed below:

    1. Single Choice Question:single choice question
      1. Click the Settings
        icon for more settings on the question type. Follow instructions
        in Settings for your
        questions
        to work with the Settings.
      2. Type in your question in the Question
        space. Follow the instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        question.
      3. Type in the answer choices in the Choice
        blanks.
      4. Click the Add Choice button if you wish to
        provide more answer choices for the question.
    2. Multiple Choice Question:Multiple choice questions
      1. Click the Settings
        icon for more settings on the question type. Follow instructions
        in Settings for your
        questions
        to work with the Settings.
      2. Type in your question in the Question
        space. Follow the instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        question.
      3. Type in the answer choices in the Choice
        blanks. Follow the instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        answer.
      4. Click the Add Choice button if you wish to
        provide more answer choices for the question.
    3. Ordering Question:Ordering questions
      1. Click the Settings
        icon for more settings on the question type. Follow instructions
        in Settings for your
        questions
        to work with the Settings.
      2. Type in your question in the Question
        space. Follow the instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        question.
      3. Type in the answer choices in the Choice
        blanks. Follow the instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        choice.
      4. Click the Add Choice button if you wish to
        provide more answer choices for the question.
    4. Association Question:Association question
      1. Click the Settings
        icon for more settings on the question type. Follow instructions
        in Settings for your
        questions
        to work with the Settings.
      2. Type in your question in the Question
        space. Follow the instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        question.
      3. Type in the answer choices in the Choice
        blanks. Follow the instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        choice.
      4. Type in the Correct Choice pairs. Follow the
        instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        choice.
      5. Click the Add Choice button if you wish to
        provide more answer choices for the question.
    5. Match the Following Question:Match the following
      1. Click the Settings
        icon for more settings on the question type. Follow instructions
        in Settings for your
        questions
        to work with the Settings.
      2. Type in your question in the Question
        space. Follow the instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        question.
      3. Type in the Row values. Follow the
        instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        values.
      4. Click the Add Row button if you wish to add
        more rows.
      5. Click the Column button for the correct
        responses.
      6. Click the Add Column button if you wish to
        add more columns.
      7. Add values in the answers section.
    6. Fill in the Blanks Question:Fill in the Blanks question
      1. Click the Settings
        icon for more settings on the question type. Follow instructions
        in Settings for your
        questions
        to work with the Settings.
      2. Type in your question in the Question
        space. Follow the instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        question.
    7. Descriptive:Descriptive question
      1. Click the Settings
        icon for more settings on the question type. Follow instructions
        in Settings for your
        questions
        to work with the Settings.
      2. Type in your question in the Question
        space. Follow the instructions in Using
        the toolbar
        to use the toolbar to type in your
        question.
  6. Click the OK icon to save
    the question you created. All questions are listed in the Questions
    sub-menu of the Assessment menu.

 

Settings for your questions:

Do the following to set the different options for the questions in the
Settings
section for every question type as shown in the image
below:

Settings

  1. Set Feedback to ON if you want the students to have
    feedback/comments on the correct answer.
  2. Set Feedback on Choices to ON if you want the
    students to feedback/comments for each answer choice. Feedback on
    Choices is available for Single Choice Question and Multiple Choice
    Question. There are no Feedback on Choices for Ordering Question,
    Association Question, Match the Following Question, Feedback Choices for
    Fill in the Blanks and Descriptive Question.
  3. Set the Score for the question.
  4. Set Shuffle Choices to ON Ordering Question,
    Association Question and Match the Following Question. You can choose to
    set the value to ON for Single Choice Questions and Multiple Choice
    Question. There are Shuffle Choices for Fill in the Blanks Question and
    Descriptive Question.
  5. Set the Grade, Subject, CCSS,
    Content, and Chapter for the
    question.
  6. Click the Less Settings button if you wish to set only a few options.

 

Using
the toolbar:

You can use the following toolbar to type in a question containing, text,
symbols or a math question:

  1. Hover over the button to see what it does.
  2. For inserting a link, click on the Link question
    button to insert a link in the question.
  3. For inserting a special character, click on the Special character
    button to insert special characters in the question.
  4. For inserting mathematical questions, click on the Math
    to use the Math Editor and follow the instructions
    given below:Math Editor

    1. Click on the various tab to write your mathematical question in
      the Latex Source.
    2. Alternatively, you can copy the Latex Source in
      the Question box and
      the question will be converted to the appropriate mathematical
      representation.
